My Review of

Glory

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love, Hate, Life, Death, and Faith, these are words that we all take for granted every day, yet they seem to be what holds the fabric of the universe together. This book is about a young girl who finds that each one of those words are more than just words they are power. When Glory finds out that she is the cure for a deadly plague she is thrown into a world she only thought existed in the movies. With the help of some very unconventional friends she finds herself in a deadly race to save all of humanity. I found this book to be very enjoyable and well worth the read because it was filled with love, loss, and passion. It is not like any other book that I have read of this kind and should not be treated as such just because of the subject matter or characters in it. This book is all about the power of Faith and should be approached that way.

Pretty Sacrifices, (Book 2, The Legend of Glory)

BOOK BLURB:

In the post-apocalyptic world following a pandemic, dark angels arrive in Glory’s small hometown to claim the eternal souls of her loved ones. Targeted by evil because of her heroism during the great plague, Glory fights back with the help of gutsy young witch Kaia, inexperienced guardian angel Sasha, and her intrepid demon-fighting dog Hallelujah. Complicating everything, a rift in time reunites Glory with an old flame and forces her to pay a huge price for love. The legend of Glory continues!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In Glory. the first novel in this mind blowing series, a young woman's world was turned inside out when a pandemic nearly wipes out everyone. Now in this page-turning sequel, the evil is back to claim the lost souls of the dead. It is up to Glory, with a little help from her unusual friends, to fight the battle for the side of good. As with the first novel this book is about faith; the faith in love, faith in God and faith in the power of friendship to overcome all obstacles. This book is a must read for everyone! This series will be displayed on my shelf with great pride and read over and over!

The Cemetery Sleeper by Susan Grinder

The Cemetery SleeperThe Cemetery Sleeper by Susan Griner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After Freddy’s mother died, his dad sent him to live in a little town with his Aunt Teri and her daughter Emily. One day while the kids were cooling off at the community pool, Matt the local kid story teller, told the group about a boy who slept on a grave. The boy was supposedly absorbed right into the ground. Emily being a logical individual, roundly told Matt he was full of hogwash. With Freddy as her witness, Emily would go to the Pesterfield’s family cemetery to lie down on a grave just to prove Matt wrong. While there, Freddy accidentally trips and lands on a small grave marked with a tiny tombstone etched with the name of "Tump." Later that night, he started having what would turn out to be a series of weird dreams. They were so realistic he would wake up sore the next morning.

Was Freddy just having bad dreams or was he being haunted by a long lost boy? You will just have to read this book to find out. This book is full of intrigue that will keep you turning pages until the end. The characters are believable and well rounded. The story line has a good flow and the ending will leave you satisfied. Individuals who like ghost stories and a quick read should definitely check out this wonderful book.

Toby The Pet Therapy Dog Says To be a Buddy Not a Bully By Charmine Hammond and Illustrations by Rose Ann Prevec

Toby the Pet Therapy Dog and His Hospital FriendsToby the Pet Therapy Dog and His Hospital Friends by Charmaine Hammond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Toby the therapy dog goes to a classroom to teach children about the proper ways to deal with a bully.
This is a wonderful book which teaches children about bullies and the best way of dealing with them. Since they were very little, I have taught my children thee rules of conduct which have stopped many fights before they ever happened. First, ask the person to stop, then walk away from the situation and finally tell a parent what is happening. This book covers these rules with delightful illustrations and easy to fallow narration. I would recommend this to anyone with small children who are attending school or have siblings.

The Wacky World of Wendy White by Barbra Ann Bonilla

The Wacky World of Wendy White! a Whopper of a TaleThe Wacky World of Wendy White! a Whopper of a Tale by Barbara Ann Bonilla
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is first and forthmost about food. Then there is an underling story intertwined in about a lonely girl in search of a friend. On her quest, she finds more then she bargains for.
What are my thoughts on this book? To be honest I am not sure. Frankly my head is still spinning. I highly admire the author for keeping all those brand names straight in her head as she wrote it. I had to read it in short burst just to keep it in perspective. The underling story is wonderful however and I would recommend, if you are brave a person to read this book you should read it twice first to recognize the band names then again to fallow the true intended story. That way the good story is not lost under the weight of familiarity. I would recommend this to anyone who cannot help reading the store names while traveling down the street or the brand names while strolling in the grocery store isle.

When I grow up I want to be a Fire Fighter By Wigu Publishing

When I Grow Up I Want To Be...a Firefighter! (When I Grow Up I Want To Be...)When I Grow Up I Want To Be...a Firefighter! by Wigu Publishing
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Will is afraid of Fire Fighters and fire so when his teacher says their next field trip is to a fire station he is devastated. When he gets there however he learns a few things about himself and Firefighters. First of all, it is okay to be afraid of fire it is a dangerous force that can hurt you. Firefighters on the other hand are just people who wear protective clothing and just look scary on the outside but are there to help you.
This book is really about courage and understanding it is a great way to learn about Fire Fighters and how they are here to help you when there is an emergency. Plus the illustrations overlaid on top of real pictures really added to the enjoyment of the story.

ZiggersnoutZiggersnout by Dale Rensing
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Learning a new skill is hard especially for Eric who despite his best efforts can't seem to get the hang of ice-skating. With a little help from Gramps the Zamboni Driver and a little imagination, Eric finds the will to try. A Shadow under the ice turns out to be a wonderful creature which helps the boy not to be scared and learn the skills needed to accomplish his goal by turning it in to a game.
The illustrations were wonderful and the story was delightful. This book would, appeal to any child who is struggling to learn something new because with a little help from their own imaginary Ziggersnout they can accomplish anything.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A lonely washed out race horse sits alone in his stall until a little girl adopts him and he becomes more then they both ever thought possible. This book is all about the powerful force of love and how it can make extraordinary things happen. This story may appeal to any girl who is a dreamer or longs to have a horse of her own. The illustrations are colorful and well drawn and they fit well with the story.
